Calcification

Nothing gets old anymore.

All my childhood photos are yellow.

My childrens photos will never yellow.

All their drawings can be scanned and saved.

All my current scribbles as well.

Nothing ever needs to be misplaced again.

Put it on the net and it will seem as fresh as the day it was created.

Timelessness through digital preservation.

But does this create calcification in your life

Plaque in the brain.

Cement in the joints.

So many definitions that no longer apply.

Hanging on you like the chains on Jacob Marley.

Nostalgias death.

The past always in sharp focus.

Never to be painted through a painless wash of memory.
