INDY 4

I am trying to accept the entire moment for what it is and not enforce my preconceptions on events that I perceive.

Prethinking / thinking / rethinking = prison

That being said, its a good movie.

They get a lot right, so Im not going to let THAT FREAKING MONKEY SCENE get on my nerves.

Breathe in, breathe out.

It wasnt like LaBoof was Tucker in Fifth Element (11 years ago, let it go, let it go.)

Think about the red scare, the cold war, the nuclear testing, the greatest generation, the whip, and Harrison Ford in the fedora, Cates hair do.

Thats the stuff I responded too.

Got to let LaBoof and monkeys and the Mission To Mars / X-Files ending go, or just accept them. Breathe in, just a movie, breathe out.

MAN I LOVED THOSE ANTS! (seriously I did)

Zombeak Screening at The Swiff

Alright, to all those I have promised to mail a copy of Zombeak to, and whose copies seem to have been lost in the mail (wink), I will be handing out copies to cast and crew at this awesome event coming up... THE SOMETHING WICKED FESTIVAL OF FILMS!

This is Kevin Power’s ongoing series showcasing films produced here in GA, and he was gracious enough to include our vulgar little freak show in the line up.

Thus! There will be a nice screening of the finished (relative term) film and a Q and A afterwards so if any of the cast/crew would like to participate in that, I’m sure we can have Kevin find us enough stools for people to sit on. It will give everyone a chance to work on their Inside the Actors Studio answers.

AND!  Well that’s it. Please let everyone on your mailing list know about this, any one who’s asked “what ever happened to that chicken movie?”, please invite them! Here is you chance to prove that you had not been out binge drinking every weekend in the summer of 04.

If only you guys show up that would be awesome too! A chance to reconnect.

Here is the link to the website and myspace page!

PS – I have been updating the blog more often due to the magic of sending video from my phone! WARNING! They are now mixed with gushy/mushy ponderings of life and yah yah whatevahs (baby pics and what if god was one of us musings) But it will keep you in the loop on where we are in getting a release date,

Hanna-Barbera

Watching lots of Scooby

Scooby on demand

Sarah loves it

Dogs and Ghosts

I love the originals

They still work

Just scary enough for kids, not too scary

Never realized that most of the voices are Shaggy

The backgrounds are awesome

http://secretfunspot.blogspot.com/2007/10/50-scooby-doo-background-paintings.html

Would love to get some of that art

Then we watch Flintstones

Made about six years before Scooby

Much better animation

And I think about Hanna-Barbera

How the 70s and 80s the animation was so sparse,

I would love to read their story

They have been doing this forever!

Tom and Jerry in the 40s until now.

Very influential.

Most of Adult Swim is riffing on it.

Wikipedia article is informative

Both wrote books.

Cool.

Off early today, Starbucks tonight.

Double shot here I come! BAM BAM!

Woo Woo

Yeah, anyway, working away at the cube.

Steph at home with babies.

Aching to run around

Must focus on moment

Not cloud it up

With undefined wants

Dont even know what Id rather be doing

It wouldnt be enough

Chinese food dreams

Twenty minutes of fulfillment

A lifetime of takeout

Eat Eat Eat

Bottomless pit

Cant be filled

Always empty

I only hate something to feel superior, nothing personal.

Are these my thoughts, or my assumptions of your thoughts?

Mr. Drogenstein

Got to talk to Chad today.

He wants to work on an oilrig.

From war to an oilrig.

Hes gone crazy butch.

To think we used to call him Femme.

Like we were Gladiators.

3 day weekend coming up.

No plans, thats the point!

And I am looking forward to getting a HUGE group together for the Indy flick!

Sunday, 1pmish

THOUGHTS

So it has been just over a year since we ended post, and I have kept my movie self busy researching distribution and writing the next projects.

It’s been a fun time; most interesting has been watching my babies grow and interact. Being a dad really changes your priorities around. I used to loose sleep over the fact that I wasn’t some hotshot horror director, and that things were taking so long, and stuff was not turning out as planned. But now I find that these kids really give me something that films never have. Peace.

These kids will only have one childhood. This is the one thing in my life that I don’t want to screw up. Screwing up a movie is the least of my worries.

But still, I do enjoy the process, and the people I’ve met have been awesome/groovy.

The film is being sent to the first three distributors this week. We will see what happens. But whatever, the film will find it’s way to the audience however it chooses. I’m going to let it tell me what to do. I don’t have the answers here. Just making it up as I go along.

BTW, we are showing ZOMBEAK! at The Something Wicked Festival of Films! Details to come later.
