Snowed In 2: Electric Boogaloo

So, part two, people on line need to go to the blow and read this backwards, to get the chronology correct. Whatev. Navel gazing must be in order.

So the stubs where all in this notebook, decked out in duct tape, band aids, pins, electrical tape, and called "FILMATIC SCABS". And that was as deep as you could get back in da day!

An exteriour shot of Smear Animation Studio, in it's hayday this studio employed one animatior and produced a film every two years, for a total of one film in it's two year running time. Want to see inside!

So I was a projectionist at Riverdale Cinemas and I collected all the black mylar from the front of the trailers, and one company had the milar complete with frame lines so I totally loved that. and so I was in bizzzzznazzzzzz.

And after about a year, in 96, I completed the (really) short film "sixty seconds" that played in the 2001 Atlanta Film Fest (i totally lied on the completion date for the application). The film was received with a resounding piff of indifference, which set the tone for my future films. At least I'm consistant.

Snowed In

So, totally snowed in, and totally cleaning out the closet to pass time, and we are converting the old nursery into my mega lair of darkness, so in the name of pointless navel gazing and inflicting complete stangers with my opinion that I am one facinating son of a gun, here is the junk in my closet. Steph, me lady, says I have a whording problem. But it is all vital, so you discide.

box of photos, the most important thing ever, especially this pic of traffic I took back around 97, after seeing Micah Evans and talking movies, I think Brent Brooks was there too! They had walls of their apartment covered in aluminum foil. I had newspaper in mine. That was some expressive times. Expressing what? Shut up!

There are alot of boxed up legal pads, comp books, sketchpads; many completely empty save one or two pics or scrawls. It is all about that amazing potential a new sketch pad, comp book has. There is that back ground thought that this may be the one that seeds the egg that grows into the baby that busts me out of the status quo and lets me live like a hair gelled jerk face.

box of movies, f13 and elm street boxes being front runners, manos from MST3K because it is pure gold- wish they had the movie raw through=Torgo is my dad, Hair is Stephanies, got that?

Well, back in the day I collected all my ticket stubs, and was MATICULOUS! because you see, girls hated my pasty nerd head, and so this went on for a few years, and I have DARKMAN, and that makes me awesome!

More to Come!

CVM, FIVE Things You Should Know

1. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas all where unrealistic release dates, (shocker!) but this thing is epic, it has a "look", and it is specific, and all that stuff slows the process down.
2. All the footage is up on dropbox for editors to download and work on. If anyone wants to hammer out a scene, we have 46 to choose from.
3. Jonas Ferreira is hammering together the dance-off ending credit sequence and it is beyond all I could have dreamed.
4. A big slow down is just letting go oof the footage and working through the language barrier of what I'm thinking. Plus I'm used to holding up in a dark room for a year and putting these things together. This time out I just do not have that luxury.
5. The goal is to have it out by the end of March.

CvM Update!

Hello Awesome Beautiful People who are in the Clown/Monkey Cult.

So I didn't make the release date, but who knew making a pseudo animated feature would be so labor intensive! Sometimes you have to smash your head into reality to find out where it exists.

Thank you to everyone who was super cool who contributed to the project or bought a copy and made 2010 a really vibrant and creative time in my life. Even if you just humored vague emails that talked about how much stuff I was going to send you but never did, thanks for smiling and nodding. Everything is in an organic constant state of evolution, and sometimes invalid before I'm done typing it out.

I am hammering away for a turkey day release.

All the pieces are in, there is just A LOT of  sandwiching to do and then a big render.

… and there is the sound mix which  I will be stalking Jonas once its time.

But You Tube will keep you in the loop until the premiere.
